Twitter update, new staff member!
Friday 3rd of July, 2009

Well guys, a few things to mention today, as it says above our first Twitter message was posted, nothing great, but we're still getting into the swing of social networking tools, we're upto about 20 followers, and we've set ourselves ridiculously high targets for both twitter and facebook[1000 members of each] and without any real spending on publicity, we're getting there slowly. You can always join using the links above, but if you're too lazy and still reading this, check out our twitter here.

How are we going to achieve those ridiculously high expectations of social networking? Through a brand manager of course! I'd like to welcome Matt Plane to the team, a student based in Norwich with experience of promoting bands and brands through the UK.

He promises to fit into the Obesetiger staff set up well, and you could well see him popping around the band camps, gigs and other social festivals based in and around Norwich, as well as helping promote our brand image online. Look for him in a flourescent Obesetiger cheshire cat tee shirt outside social gigs in Norwich and approach him for free Obesetiger merchandise, goodies and prizes!

Expect further developments on the website, the tee shirts and the labels soon!As well as other social events that are planned. If you'd like to get to know Matt, chat to him or ask him any questions, hit him up at his email, matt@obesetiger.com

Labels labels labels
Wednesday 1st of July, 2009

Well, after a hectic week in which I've learnt that everything in the fashion business takes at least a week to do, we finally received our first batch of labels for our new tee shirts at the obesetiger office today.

Except these in your shirts anytime soon!

Although not entirely the finished product, as no size labels are present, it shows the quality of the label with fantastic stitching. Expect the finished label to be the same as above but with the size guides sewn in too, something like this:

As it stands I'm currently trying to network as much as possible in the tee shirt business, although people can help me myself along by joining our Twitter or our Facebook group page. As ever feel free to use the Contact page to get into contact with any feedback.

Shouldn't be long now for the first batch of obesetiger shirts to be available, and we'll be looking to get the web shop up and running within 2 weeks.

We've also got a plan of marketing for universitys, most likely in the University of Plymouth and the University of Hertfordshire, where we will be holding exciting promotional days, giving away goodies and showing new designs to the world! All very exciting stuff.

We're sailing along...worrying smoothly?
Sunday 28th of June, 2009

I must say I'm getting slightly worried as to how everything seems to be coming along. Labels have been ordered, shirts have been sourced [although the printer is taking a while, seems to be the same with almost everything], business cards have arrived, leaflet designs have been discussed and several projects are in the pipeline. Through networking I've already got a couple of interviews arranged to have our shirts reviewed by some magazines, which will be great I guess, but I'm too worried to clarify everything before we've got the database for the shop up and pics of people actually wearing our tee shirts!

In the meantime whilst you await, I can reveal a tribute of Michael Jackson to be released by the Obesetiger brand:

Out of respect, and just to make the design and shirt look a bit more classy, there's no Obesetiger branding present, but there will of course be the normal made in the UK gurantee and high quality garment.

I'd also like to reveal the official Obesetiger design for The Troubadours, shown below. I guess if you turn up to their shows you might get a cheeky review of one before you could buy it here, but for all those Troubadours fans, it's a must have!

In the meantime, there are several things you can do to entertain yourself whilst awaiting our designs, firstly, Sign up to the facebook group, check out The Troubadours, enter our Competition, sign up to the fun online battling game Mybrute. If you're Irish feel free to head on over to Mysell.ie where you can not only pick up cheeky goods for a decent price, but also advertise anything you have to sell, a classified ads, just for the Irish republic if you will. Expect deals for our Irish fans via the link from there soon.

Suggested summer listening and new competition
Wednesday 24rd of June, 2009

So, things are setting up nicely. Having sourced some labels from the UK[to stick to our 'made in the UK' gurantee] things are launching towards full steam ahead.

More importantly, whilst waiting for our website and new range of obesetiger related tee shirts and hoodies, it's time to chill out in the garden with a BBQ and put some jams on. We're currently supporting the band The Troubadours a liverpool based band who sound a bit like an updated version of The Beatles. Give their song Still Waters a listen, I've provided a link to an mp3. If you like their stuff, head on over to facebook and add to their group for updates on gigs and events. If you like them that much feel free to spend £0.79 of your hard earned cash downloading their single 'Surrender' on iTunes now. Except some of the band to be wearing obesetiger shirts in the near future at some events, and also a limited edition 'The Troubadours' Obesetiger shirt, nice one.

More importantly for those who love social networking is another competition from Obesetiger. At the end of July we'll be picking random members of our facebook group and a member of our twitter followers to win prizes ranging from yet another ipod to free obesetiger tee-shirts, hoodies and goodies. Just sign up now! No entry needed, we'll pick random members of both groups at the end of July, with 5 winners being announced, simples!

Whilst on the topic of summer jams and listening, if you're a fan of both rock and rnb, it might be well worth picking up the compilation of Travis Barker rnb remix songs. Well worth a free download, using the pass 'Empire@warez-bb.org' to unrar the file. 13 songs that the drummer has remixed himself, good stuff.

And so it begins...
Tuesday 23rd of June, 2009

After several months of planning the temporary obesetiger website is up and running. Inspired by JohnnyCupcakes I've gone with the idea of keeping a blog on the website, much the same as he does, although this will, fortunatley probably delve a bit deeper into the business side of things, as well as announcing new competitions, new designs and such and so forth.

Got no idea what obesetiger is? No problem, head on over to the About Us page and you'll get a brief understanding of the story behind a company that started out as a small image scrawled by a desperatley poor and unintelligent man in the back of a law lecture in the UK. From then on it spawned a nickname that flourished into the company you see before you today. The 'about' section also lists our thoughts and ideas as to how run the company and to which points we should adhere.

Want to win a free ipod of your choice courtesy of obesetiger urban clothing? Then head on over to http://www.obesetiger.com/competition and enter now! All you need to do is send in a design of your choice for a new tee shirt, and the best winner will be picked out and awarded a free ipod. Do it however you want, draw, use photoshop , or, should be artistically challenged, simply send your idea and we'll whip it together! If you're a budding artist this is a great way to extend your portfolio, and as you can see with all other designs, fun is the aim of the game, so have fun sticking our cheshire cat wherever you want, create a new colour scheme with him, hand draw a cartoon of your choice or simply come up with some sort of text that we can play with.

Once you've done that, send an email to ideas@obesetiger.com stating your name and add your image as an attachment, or use a free image service such as imageshack to upload and leave us the link, that's it. If you want to just give us an idea for the competition then just put that in the body of the email.

Below are some samples of what you can expect in terms of logos and the first batch of obesetiger tee shirts released. Look for a range of hoodies and other clothing garments in future including polos and shirts.

If you're an avid twitter user, or just someone looking to get into the social networking craze, the sign up and follow obesetiger on there. Updates on new stock, new ideas and new competition, as and when it happens. For more information, just head to either the obesetiger twitter page or the twitter homepage to get started.

Fan of Facebook instead? Then sign up to the Obesetiger - urban clothing group on facebook to be kept abreast of all the latest goings on in the obese tiger camp.
